The Rebellion posted the above poll question from September 23 to November 23. In that time period, a total of 418 respondents voted with 311 preferring to rebrand the Rebel mascot instead of renaming. At the Walpole School Committee Meeting on August 27, junior David Moser spoke in favor of rebranding the Rebel name. The School Committee subsequently voted to approve of the rebranding. When Moser heard the poll results, he said, “I am very satisfied with the results of the poll and I stand by my opinion that the Rebel name should remain in order to keep the support of the town.”
