This was a great read. My son has been at the school I worked at since he was in the 6th grade. He was even in my class 7th grade. It has been pretty tricky to navigate. I find the biggest obstacle is for him and teachers thinking he should be better because his mom works at the school or teachers assuming I know his grades and know what he needs for classes even when they don’t tell me like they would have to do for other parents. But overall, I have enjoyed the experience. We have a really close bond.

Great article! I enjoyed reading it a lot. I worked at Mansfield High School when my daughter was a Freshman there and I see a lot of similarities. I love that you and your mom got closer, that’s wonderful!
