Haley Gilmore

When did you first begin to play the sport?

When I was 11 years old.

Do you want to continue this sport in college?

Yes.

If yes, are you committed for this sport? To what school?

No; I want to play for fun.

Who was a prominent coach in your sports career? Why?

All my past instructors at the Adirondack club and our new coach Dave that brings a new outlook to the team.

What other activities/clubs are you involved in?

Swim team.

How do you feel going into the season?

I feel excited and optimistic as we have many new girls trying out with lots of potential and two new coaches already helping the girls improve and drill certain skills.

Do you think the team will make tournament/ post season? How far do you think you’ll make it?

Our team dynamic has changed so much in terms of coaches, players and level of ability I’m not sure how far we will make it but I’m confident the team will improve and grow this season.

Who are some big opponents/rivals? Why?

Newton North is one of our strongest opponents.

What are some goals set for the team this coming season? How do you plan to achieve these goals?

Some goals are to win the majority of matches we play this season and form a strong varsity team.

Shannon Nicholson

When did you first begin playing this sport?

Sophomore year.

Do you want to continue this sport in college?

Unsure.

If yes, are you committed for this sport? To what school?

If I decide to continue the sport I will play at Curry college.

Who was a prominent coach in your sports career? Why?

My dad actually is a coach not for my sport tennis but he really helped me get involved and would bring me to the courts and work on skills with me.

What other activities/clubs are you involved in?

I love to work out and exercise. I was involved in CrossFit cut but unfortunately can’t continue it due to my knee injury.

How do you feel going into the season?

I feel great going into the season. I feel this year it’s going to be a good year. Our coach is very helpful and is working us to our best potential.

Do you think the team will make tournament/ post season? How far do you think you’ll make it?

To be honest I’m not sure if we would make it to tournament but I do feel that we will make some great wins.

Who are some big opponents/rivals? Why?

Definitely Natick, they are a good team and have some great skills

What are some goals set for the team this coming season? How do you plan to achieve these goals?

I hope for this year girls will take it seriously but still have fun, I would like to see them strive for the best. Even though some matches may not go so well I want them to keep their head up and never give up.
