When did you start playing the sport?

I started in 2nd grade.

Do you want to continue this sport in college?

Maybe, if the college I go to offers a cheerleading club. I would choose between either that or joining the track and field team since that is another sport I do in the winter and spring.

Who was a prominent coach in your career? Why?

My current coach, Sam, has been one of my coaches since I was in elementary school. Sam has been a great mentor and has taught me a lot about the sport, and has allowed me to coach some of her youth teams at her own cheer gym.

What other activities/sports are you involved in?

Aside from cheerleading, I am also part of the winter and spring track and field teams.

How do you feel going into this season?

I feel really good. Our team has been able to bond and get to know each other quickly, almost faster than all previous seasons. There is a great amount of skill that a lot of the new girls are bringing to the team and I think we have a lot of potential this season.

What are some goals set for the team this coming season? How do you plan to achieve them?

We hope to do really well in our competitions this season. If we place 1st, 2nd, or 3rd we get to advance to more and more competitions as the season goes on. Our practices after school will get us prepared for that and make our routine perfect. Beside that we hope that the football team’s season goes well to make cheering at games enjoyable as well.

Who are some big opponents/rivals? Why?

At competitions, some of our biggest rivals tend to be Milford and Natick as they have some of the biggest teams. Those teams also have a lot of all-star cheerleaders which are girls who compete on other teams year-round who have a lot of talent.

Some goals for the team are to make it to states and regionals, but also to just become closer as a team.

Who are some big opponents/rivals? Why?

Whitman Hanson and Framingham are our biggest rivals because they have really good cheer programs and they are really hard to beat. Norwood is also our rival because our scores are usually very similar in competitions.
