The Rebels were not able to deliver runs support, although they had numerous opportunites to score. The Rebels beat themselves with physical errors on the field and mental errors on the basepath. Sophmore Tom Ryan pitched 8 2/3 innings and gave up 5 runs. To close out the ninth inning, the Rebels brought in sophomore Dave Conroy, who ended the inning with a strikeout. The Rebels were not able to get the offense they needed against Needham’s left-hander. Walpole looks to bounce back Friday, May 8 with a night game against the Natick Red and Blue, a tough team against which they came away with a close 2-1 victory on April 13.
