Walpole High School’s juniors and seniors had a ball on Friday May 29, 2009 at the Junior-Senior Prom at Christina’s in Foxboro. About 560 students attended the affair, all dressed to perfection in beautiful gowns and handsome tuxedos. Students had fun dancing the night away.
The Prom Court was filled with several awesome and deserving students as well. Prom King and Queen were won by Seneca Williamson and Derek Hand. Other students on the Court included Liz Monahan, Blair Carroll, Jess Caron, and James Elwood.
To make the evening even more special and memorable, the Prom Committee decorated the function hall beautifully with different shades of purple and maroon balloons. This really enhanced the look of the room. For dinner, students dined on salad, chicken parmesan, with a cookie and brownie bar for dessert.
During the prom, students also had the opportunity to have professional pictures taken. This was set up in a room right outside of where the prom was held. This was a special chance for the students to have their pictures taken by a real photographer, and the photographs will bring a lifetime of memories.
The main event of the night was of course, the dancing. The Prom Committee hired a new deejay who spun tunes that everyone enjoyed. There was nonstop dancing all night long. There were even screens that showed the music videos to the songs as they were being played, which was a very cool feature.
At the end of the night, students were given photo albums as favors to remember the night by, so that they will be sure to save their memories in them to enjoy for the rest of their lives.
This year’s prom was a huge success, as always. Many students attended and had a great time. There was lots of fun, food, and dancing. Although the actual prom only lasted a short time, the memories from it will last forever.
