2.) Why did you decide to become a math teacher?

I love working with high school aged kids and I love the subject of mathematics

3.) What profession did you have before becoming a teacher and how has that experience helped you in this career?

I was in the money management business, a corporate bonds analyst. It has helped because lots of math is involved in corporating bonds.

4.) What is your favorite part about being a teacher?

Interacting with the students

5.) What types of teaching techniques do you use in the classroom i.e. direct instructions, Socratic seminars, group work etc?

Direct and group work. Also humor I try to make math funny even though it’s hard to do

6.) What is the most interesting thing you’ve ever done?

Went to Hong Kong. Also played in a college alumni football game at the age of 50

7.) The most boring?

Analyzing corporate bonds. It got boring after 30 years

8.) If you were stuck on an island with no electricity what 3 things would you bring?

A football, a country music cd and a math book my 3 favorite things in life

Mexican food
