Despite their previous loss to Needham on Tuesday Walpole showed their true colors yesterday against Newton North. They took on the Tigers at their home course at Walpole Country Club and proved victorious. Walpole’s senior captain, Corey Menno, and Matthew Bender beat their opponents by one point as did Andrew Gambon and Brendan Maloney. John MacDonald and Jake Donovan also came out on top. It came down to the last two pairs on the ninth hole to determine the winner and MacDonald and Donovan got the job done. The scores were close and the competition was nothing to take lightly. The Rebels are maintaining their winning record, now 7 and 4. At this rate the tournament is a possibility for the Rebels. They need to win at least half of their matches to qualify for the tournament.
