As with previous years, Walpole High is hosting another Theater performance. The man behind the idea, assistant principal Mr. Connor, has brought the show back, but this year it is different. Last year, only teachers were allowed to perform on stage. This year, students and staff are encouraged to come together to think of crafty acts to collaborately put on for an audience at 7:30 in the auditorium on Thursday, April 12.
Last year, acts such as Mrs. Milne’s hula-hoop song and dance, were the highlights of the night. Students were on their feet to cheer for Mrs. Milne as she sang and danced to “Girls Just Want to Have Fun.” Also a crowd pleaser, “If I had a Million Dollars” sung by the administration, Mr. Hahn, Mr. Imbusch, and Connor had the whole auditorium on their feet. Also a major crowd pleaser was math teacher, Mrs. Friar preforming karaoke to an Irish song. Because the acts have been stretched out to allow students to preform along with their teachers, the administration hopes to get an even larger audience this year.
Though the list of preformance for this year’s student and staff theater is small, the acts look promising. One of the known acts involves junior Ali Ajemian and sophomore Mikey Van der Linden preforming in a band with Mr. Giblin, Mr. Powers, and Mr. Strict.
Tickets will be sold at the door. Students, teachers, and parents are strongly encouraged to join in on the fun of watching the rare occurrences of teachers out of their classroom element.
