The Walpole High School baseball team continued their streak of excellence into their early May game against the Weymouth Wildcats. Walpole out scored the Wildcats 1-0, earning their only run off a double hit by Senior Tim Sullivan that sent Senior Captain Matt Lavanchy from second to home.
Junior Mike Gaughan pitched a scoreless game into the 9th inning until Junior Nick Cordopatri came in an earned the save with two quick outs in the field followed by a strikeout. The team remains strong and momentous as their next game approaches against the 6-5 Wellesley Raiders. Walpole is currently ranked number two in the state, behind only BC High.
