Through yet another herculean effort by Boston’s Kevin Garnett, as well as Rajon Rondo’s eight playoff triple double, the Celtics took Game 1 of Round Two against the Philadelphia 76ers. Garnett dropped 29 points, while Rondo added 13 points, 17 assists, and 12 rebounds. While Boston’s go to scorer Paul Pierce recovers from the sprained MCL he has been playing on for the past few games, his teammates have stepped up and proved that they are a more versatile team than previously thought.
Although Boston came out with the victory, the 76ers managed to maintain a lead for a majority of the game. Igoudala led the Sixers with 19 points, followed by Evan Turner who scored 16. While each team has had its spurts, it seemed that the Celtics’ experience prevailed in Game One, and so now they can bring the momentum into a consecutive home game.
