Walpole High School’s annual “Back to School Night” provides all Walpole High parents with the opportunity to meet each of their child’s teachers for their current school year. Parents will follow their son or daughter’s daily school schedule throughout the evening. Upon arrival at each ten minute class, the teacher will review expectations for the year including homework, the curriculum, and classroom policies. This event will take place on Thursday night, September 27th, from 7:00 to 8:45 p.m.
First, parents will report to their child’s homeroom to watch a Principal’s Welcome from Principal Stephen Imbusch that will be broadcasted from the TV Studio at 7:05 p.m. Following homeroom, parents will travel to their child’s first period class to meet with their child’s teacher. This will not be an individual or one-on-one conference with the teacher. They will only be providing a brief overview of the school year to all the parents of the students in each class. However, after first term in mid-fall, parents will have the option to speak individually to parents at the yearly Parent-Teacher conferences.
In the instance that their child’s schedule contains a study period, parents are welcome to go to the main lobby where refreshments will be available. The PAC will also have an information table set up during the evening open to visitors.
It is important that parents remember to bring their son or daughter’s schedule with them to Back to School Night and also to arrive on time so that they do not disrupt the condensed schedule of the evening. However, in the event that parents forget their student’s schedule, the main office will be able to print a copy. Back to School Night can be very informative for parents of students in all grades, so the administration highly recommends that parents make their best effort to attend.
