In past years, Spirit Week has brought out interesting outfits from spandex suits to feetie pajamas. With high expectations for this year, Student Council will be hosting a spirit week the week of October 1st through 5th to pump up the school before their home football game against Norwood on Saturday, October 6th. By dressing up, a student will receive stuco bucks which can be used for the joust, where students joust faculty during the pep rally, which will be held on Friday. If people do not want to do this, they can save up their bucks for future events throughout the year, like the date auction.
To kick off the week, students can relieve some of the stress of a Monday morning by wearing pajamas to school on Pajama Day. Students can wear just sweats if that’s what they feel like or go all out with feetie pajamas and add in slippers or a robe. On Tuesday, students will wear camouflage. Everyone can celebrate half the week being over with neon day on Wednesday. Light up the hallways with all of the neon clothes and accessories students can find. Represent each grade with the color you are assigned for Thursday. Faculty should wear stripes, Seniors should wear black, Juniors should wear red, Sophomores should wear green, and Freshman should wear brown. To finish off the week on Friday, the hallway will be covered in blue and orange for Rebel Day. This is going to lead up to the pep rally at the end of the day where everyone goes to the football field and gets pumped up for the game that night.
Senior executive board member on Student Council, Micaela Barry said, “I expect people to wear crazy colors and crazy outfits. And I expect some people to go all out, especially the upperclassman.” There are high hopes that the student body will make this spirit week successful.
