Baseball: The Baseball team’s home opener originally scheduled for April 1 against Newton North was moved this week to a later date due to the field conditions the team has been dealing with. Walpole still played Brookline on Saturday April 5 at Catholic Memorial High School. The final score of the game was 11-0. Senior Captain Pitcher James Smith threw a phenomenal 5 innings to help get the win. They play Needham today at Needham at 4:00.
Softball: The Softball team played Oliver Aimes on Friday, April 4, which they won 6-3. They play today at home against Needham.
Boys Lacrosse: The Lacrosse team played their first game on Monday, March 31, against King Philip and beat the Warriors 13-5. The Rebels then rode that momentum into their next game on April 4, against Natick—dominating the Red & Blue 12-0. They play their next game against Newton North on April 8.
Girls Lacrosse: Girls Lacrosse lost their first game of the season to Natick on April 3, the final score of the game was 12-6 Natick. However, junior Molly Lannahan scored half the goals for her team against Natick, adding to her now 10 goals scored on the season. The girls additionally beat King Philip on April 4, 4-0. Their next game is April 8 against Newton North.
Boys Tennis: The Rebels have a record of 2-1 thus far this season, beating Dedham, 1-0, and Milton, 5-0, on April 1 and April 7 respectively. Additionally, the boys lost to Weymouth on April 4, 3-2
Most Valuable Rebel: This week’s Most Valuable Rebel is junior Girls Lax player Molly Lannahan for her outstanding performance against Natick on April 3. Even though her team lost, she scored 3 goals in an effort to help her team get the win. This effort is certainly worthy of the Most Valuable Rebel of the week.
Unsung Rebel(s): Boys Lacrosse is doing extremely well thus far this season; however their accomplishments have gone silently unnoticed. They beat Natick by a final score of 12-0 to improve their record, an accomplishment worthy of the title of Unsung Rebels.
