Last Friday, November 14, the Rebels defeated Medfield at Turco Field by a score of 28-14 and improved their record to an impressive 10-0. Walpole trailed the beginning of the first quarter, but the Rebels responded later in the quarter with a drive that ended with a Steve Cuqua touchdown. On Medfield’s next drive Senior Captain Jack Lavanchy returned an interception for a touchdown to swing the momentum heavily in Walpole’s favor. The Rebel defense kept Medfield’s playmakers in check while Walpole’s offense tacked on two more scores to seal the win. Walpole football will play in the semi-finals at Brockton against Dartmouth at 3:30pm on Saturday, November 22. The upcoming game will determine if the Rebels play in the Divisional State Championship at Gillette Stadium after the Thanksgiving game. (Written by Hiromi Kondo)
