As the All-Star match and the state playoffs are creeping around the corner, excitement and anxiety surge throughout the Walpole High Golf Team.
Losing to Needham by five points on October 8, the Golf Team puts itself in a tight corner. Now, qualification for the state playoffs can only be earned by winning their next two matches. The match against Norwood on October 12, promises to be a true challenge for Walpole. If the team is able to beat Norwood, their next match will be against Catholic Memorial on October 14. If they do not win both of these matches, they will not be eligible for the playoffs. Also coming up is the All-Star match at Brook Meadow Country Club. The match is composed of teams of the three best players on competing high school teams. Tim Boush, Kyle Donnelly and John MacDonald are the three members who will be attending the All-Star match later on this week. The three have showed incredible talent and determination throughout the season.
With such a great squad of golfers lined up this year, if Walpole can come out victorious from these last two matches, they will be sure to make some sound in the playoffs.
