Winter Track.

When did you first begin playing this sport?

Spring freshman year.

Do you want to continue this sport in college?

I wish to.

Who was a prominent coach in your sports career? Why?

Greener because he has taught me ever since I entered high school sports.

How do you feel going into this season?

I feel pretty good about how this year will go for us.

What are some goals set for the team this coming season?/How do you plan to achieve these goals?

I would hope for one meet we could have all Walpole throwers place.

Who are some big opponents/rivals? Why?

For the throwers, a good rival would be either Needham or the Weymouth thrower team.

 

Stephen Colleran

(Mid-Distance Captain)

Which winter sport are you a captain for?

Indoor Track and Field.

When did you first begin playing this sport?

Freshman year.

Do you want to continue this sport in college?

Yes.

Who was a prominent coach in your sports career? Why?

The prominent coach for me is Coach Coogan because he has been my coach all through high school, and he does a great job with bringing the team together and helping the athletes to be the best they can.

What other activities/clubs are you involved in?

I am involved with National Honors Society and Math Club.

How do you feel going into this season?

I am excited to start the season, and I can not wait to see what the team can accomplish this year. 

What are some goals set for the team this coming season?/How do you plan to achieve these goals?

The major goal of this season is to repeat as champions at the Division III championship and also qualify as many people as possible to the All-State meet.  In order to reach this goal, we must work hard throughout the entire season and have confidence in our training when the meet comes around. 

Who are some big opponents/rivals? Why?

Needham because they beat us last year in indoor for the Herget Championship, and we would want to get revenge on them this year. 

 

Luke Sheehan

(Sprinting, Hurdles and Jumping Captain)

Indoor track.

When did you first begin playing this sport?

Freshman year.

Do you want to continue this sport in college?

Yes.

Who was a prominent coach in your sports career? Why?

Coach Coogan because he has always been supportive of me and pushed me to be my best.

What other activities/clubs are you involved in?

Football.

How do you feel going into this season?

Excited to try and win Divisionals again.

What are some goals set for the team this coming season?/How do you plan to achieve these goals?

Win Divisionals.

Who are some big opponents/rivals? Why?

Needham because they are always a tough team.

 

Shane Grant

(Distance Captain)

Which winter sport are you a captain for?

Winter Track and Field.

When did you first begin playing this sport?

Freshman year.

Do you want to continue this sport in college?

Yes.

If yes, are you committed for this sport? To what school?

Northeastern University.

Who was a prominent coach in your sports career? Why?

Coach Giblin, because he has prepared me to race against tough competition and helped me reach my goals.

What other activities/clubs are you involved in?

Green Team, Badminton Club.

How do you feel going into this season?

Exhilarated to start competing at the Reggie. I know the majority of the team is in good shape coming into the season and are eager to improve from last year.

What are some goals set for the team this coming season?/How do you plan to achieve these goals?

Some of our goals are to repeat as Divisional Champions and win the Herget. We plan to achieve these goals by training hard and encouraging our teammates to improve throughout the season.

Who are some big opponents/rivals? Why?

Our biggest opponents are Needham, because they are most likely our toughest competition in the Herget and we race them in the first meet of the season.
