Make the most of this upcoming fall by taking part in some of these activities with friends and family.
Time and time again, activities like pumpkin and apple picking are a must for the fall season. Many people, however, overlook how many activities can come out of pickings. This includes creating an impressive looking jack o’lantern. . Print out stencils for the pumpkin to create an effortless face or design to display outside. Or to keep it as inside decor, use the pumpkin as a vase and fill it with flowers of choice as a centerpiece. In addition, pumpkin seed can be baked for a chip-like snack. Toss seasonings of choice onto the seeds with olive oil and bake them in the oven until they turn golden brown. This is a versatile recipe and can be turned into a sweet treat by adding sugar and pumpkin pie spice. With the pumpkin guts, puree and strain can be used for baked goods like pumpkin bread or use it to create a pumpkin pasta sauce. After apple picking, use the apples by baking apple crisp or an apple pie. Instead of spending money buying artificial smelling fall candles, try making an apple cider stove-top potpourri. This is an all natural alternative to candles that smell even better! To make the potpourri, add water, apple slices, cinnamon sticks, cloves, allspice and nutmeg to a pot and bring to a boil and then reduce to a simmer. This strong fall scent will fill a house with the warm feeling of fall.
Having a fall movie marathon with friends is the ultimate way to spend a cool autumn evening with friends and family.
