After leaving fans on a cliffhanger for over two years, the 1984 “Karate Kid” sequel, “Cobra Kai” is officially coming back for one final season. With this being the final season, it will be bittersweet for not only the fans, but the actors too since the series has been on air since 2018 and the storyline has been running since 1984. This means many of the actors including WIlliam Zabka (Johnny Lawrence) and Ralph Macchio (Daniel LaRusso) have been working with each other for forty years.
“Cobra Kai” is known as one of the most popular TV series, breaking many records since its release. According to Reddit, In May 2018 “Cobra Kai” was titled as “the world’s most in-demand streaming television show” until May of the following year reaching 90 million views. When the show was first aired, it was labeled the most watched TV show of the week by Netflix. Many of the actors have commented and threw out spoilers prior to the release of the first part of season 6.
“We felt like one season – 10 episodes – is not going to be enough to finish this up,” WIlliam Zabka said. “The stakes are set at the end of the first five.”
With all of this being said, the expectations are high for season 6.
The final season will be broken down into three parts with the first part being released on July 18, 2024 and the other two on Nov. 15, 2024. The season will consist of 15 episodes, which is the most number of episodes ever released in a season of “Cobra Kai.” Each part will consist of 5 episodes. The new season will be available on Netflix with a subscription, as well as Youtube premium.
