Paris Fashion Week 2024 was a star-studded event with top designers unveiling their latest collections This year’s PFW was a blend of high fashion and celebrity allure, making it a memorable week in the fashion world.
Paris Fashion Week has once yet again taken the world by storm, showcasing the world couture and innovating pieces. This year’s event brought designers, models and fashion enthusiasts from all over the globe together at the capital of fashion. With a mixture of minimalistic fashion to bold edgy pieces, this year’s PFW highlighted the industry’s creativity and left viewers with an unforgettable experience.
Beginning this year on Sept. 24 and ending Oct. 1, here are some of PFW’s best moments.
“Girlhood” at Ganni
Described as a “coming of age” moment by Vogue Scandinavia, Ganni’s Spring-Summer 2025 collection, “The Craft,” celebrated sisterhood this year at PFW. Ditte Reffstrup, Ganni’s creative director, revealed the true meaning of the collection is “courage, empowerment and connection, pushing our boundaries across both design and innovation.” The team experimented with 20 different fabrics as it brought alternatives to polyester, cotton blends and leather onto the runway this year. The collection featured details such as delicate blooms, sportswear motifs, bubble-hem dresses and floor-length gowns created from baseball jerseys. This year the brand “… wanted to channel the GANNI woman’s intuitive confidence and dynamic energy –someone who is tuned in,” Reffstrup said.
Bella Hadid’s Resurgence
She is back! Bella Hadid returned to the runway this year for Saint Laurent’s Spring-Summer collection 2025. Hadid’s last show took place in Fall of 2022, where she walked for Coperni and modeled the iconic “spray-on-dress” moment. Hadid took two years off in modeling to focus on her mental and physical health. Now, she has returned wearing a black suit containing an oversized jacket on top of a white tee- shirt with a black tie and accessorized with black glasses. Hadid was not the only model this year wearing a suit as they dominated this year at PFW.
Travis Scott for Vetements SS25
PFW not only brought out the big names within the fashion industry, it also brought out the biggest names within the music industry. Cardi B, J Balvin, Harry Styles, Willow Smith, Future, Ice Spice and Pharrell Williams were spotted at PFW. Vetements held a show which was opened by rapper Travis Scott wearing an all black outfit paired with sunglasses and ended with Scott being brought out again in the same outfit.
Balenciaga SS25
The Balenciaga Spring-Summer 2025 collection was a full circle moment for designer Demna. “My early memories of fashion start with me drawing looks on cardboard, cutting them out and making ‘fashion shows’ on my kitchen table…Thirty five years later, this show reconnects me to the beginning of my vision. It’s a tribute to fashion that has a point of view,” Demna said. Balenciaga had their models showcase puffers layered over trousers, hats which were tucked to cover the models faces and full outfits of denim. Once the show ended, Brittney Spears “Gimme More” began to play.
Rick Owens SS25
Rick Owens has done it once again – deliver an insane show. This year at PFW, Ownes enlisted an army of models to walk the Spring-Summer 2025 collection. With so many models, some stood on the roof where they shot confetti onto the runway. The first looks were in the signature Rick Ownes black while some varied with texture, such as leather, denim and pom poms. Clean cuts, silver foil, historic headwear, and acid green capes were featured in this year’s show.
Coperni SS25
Coperni debuted their Spring-Summer 2025 collection at Disneyland Paris to end PFW. The show took place in front of Sleepy Beauty’s castle and ended with a display of fireworks. The show was divided into three sections: celebration of youth and nostalgia, which featured vintage Disney tees of the most iconic characters. Villains: monochromatic looks that hinted at classic Disney villains. The show closed with a princess transformation: closed by reality star Kylie Jenner, who had her first ever PFW runway debut. Jenner wore a black sleeveless ball gown paired with opera-length black gloves. Not only was Jenner the star of the Coperni, names such as Amelia Gray, Lila Moss, Paloma Elsesser and Irina Shayk all walked in the show. It truly was a fairytale come true as the after party ended when the clock struck after midnight hit.
This year’s PFW truly emphasized on one idea – fashion still remains as strong as ever. This year’s collection boldly redefined boundaries of style, merging traditional and innovative styles and offering a variety of textures, colors and silhouettes which perfectly capture Paris fashion. The influence from Paris will undoubtedly continue to shape fashion for seasons to come.
