The Dungeons & Dragons Club, started by WHS students, allows individuals to express their creative side through a role-play game. Run by WHS teachers Timothy Bergeron and Gabriel Bakale, the club works towards having students collaborate with others, be innovative and allows students to explore fantasy.
“Dungeons and Dragons allows members to work on creating characters and just in general collaborate with other students who have similar interests,” Bakale said.
The club meets on the first and third Wednesday of every month in either Bakale or Bergeron’s classrooms. When arriving at the meeting each student will receive a role in the role-play game and will go to separate rooms to discuss their adventure.
“Dungeons and Dragons is a role-play game so you know you are creating a character and creating that character’s abilities, then you are going on some sort of adventure and people sort of organize and plan out how to go through it,” Bakale said.
This after school group welcomes all new faces whether you have played D&D, played similar video games, or just want to try something new. The Dungeons and Dragons club is the only one of its kind offered at WHS.
“It’s a group that welcomes new folks too who have never played D & D before and want to learn but it’s also kind of a learning opportunity for them,” Bakale said.
The club runs year round. Anyone with questions regarding the club or an interest in participating can contact club advisors Timothy Bergeron and Gabriel Bakale.
