Summer is just around the corner, and students, as well as teachers, eagerly anticipate the end of the school year. The Searchlight took to the halls to find out more about Walpole High School’s summer plans.
Do you have any fun plans for the summer?
“I’m going to Hilton Head with my family and cousins, and then I have work at [Walpole Recreation], and then I have field hockey.” – Maddie Gray
“I’m going to go to Ireland.” – Alexander Mar
“I’m going to Punta Cana for a junior trip.” – Kate Jordan
“Probably just going to the Cape. I mean, the Cape is the hot spot for the summer, it’s always fun there.” – Coleman Walsh
“Spend almost every day with my son, go on a lot of trips, go to Virginia, North Carolina, go to D.C..” – Mr. Yurgold
“I’ll be going to Greece and probably take another tour of my college.” – Alexander Vartan
What’s your ideal summer day?
“That would probably be waking up late and then probably going to the gym before going to the beach with friends and spending the entire day there and probably getting dinner afterwards.” -Emeli Cruz
“Probably going to the Cape with my friends, like being at the beach all day and then coming back and getting ready to go out to dinner and taking pictures.” -Maddie Gray
“I like to ride my electric bike.” -Alexander Mar
“Probably in the Cape. Wake up, get some food, probably some avocado toast. There’s this really good place down the street from me. And then, probably, go to the beach, tan, get some food, go home and shower and have dinner.” -Kate Jordan
“Hanging out with friends, having fun outside, and then get a lot of ice cream after.” -Coleman Walsh
“With Wes, wake up, hang out on the couch, read something, play something, walk the dog, then he’ll go down for a nap. Later, something outside, my wife gets off work early and then we’ll hang out, cook dinner.” -Mr. Yurgold.
“75 degrees, a little wind, low humidity.” -Mason Stanley
“Probably going to the Cape, Going to the boat, going tubing.” -Jack Disipio
“Hanging out with my friends, going to the park.” -Alexander Vartan
Is there anything you miss about school during summer?
“Not really, I kinda really like the routine I got down for my daily summer life.” -Emeli Cruz
“I miss seeing people at school that I don’t talk to outside of school, and just socializing with more people I don’t usually talk to.” -Maddie Gray
“Hanging out with friends.” -Alexander Mar
“I get Dunkin a lot more.” -Kate Jordan
“No offense, not really.” -Coleman Walsh
“Yeah, I either hang out with two- year-olds, or people who are older, so having people in the in-between age group is fun to do.” -Mr. Yurgold
“Seeing all your friends everyday.” – Mason Stanley
“Seeing my less-acquainted friends.” -Alexander Vartan
“Absolutely nothing. I mean friends, but that’s about it.” -Jack Disipio
What are you looking forward to for next year?
“Probably starting college like I’m really excited for that big change to see what else is out there.” -Emeli Cruz
“I’m looking forward to being a senior and doing all of the fun senior activities, like senior sunrise and senior assassin.” -Maddie Gray
“I’m thinking about getting a job as a car detailer, as a worker in a restaurant or being a busboy, working at Home Depot.” -Alexander Mar
“Having a new environment, new people, having a lot of visits from people.” -Coleman Walsh
“Getting to see your friends after a long summer.” -Mason Stanley
“Ideally, based on what classes I’m teaching, maybe they’ll be easier because I’ll know more about everything.” -Mr. Yurgold.
“Getting the education I need for the career I want to go into.” -Alexander Vartan
“Working. Probably working.” -Jack Disipio
