Captains: Grace Lynch, Jocelyn Lydon, Jackie Clinton, Kristan Papirio, Brigette Lawton, and Caroline Malone
Last Year’s Record: 4-3
Strengths: Jumping, with the return of Amanda Carney and Nicky Browne, and the emergence of Maddy Shea in long jump and high jump, should be a strength for our team. We’re going to have a solid core group for jumping. Sprints and distance will be competitive and we’ll do well against most, but kids will have to step up in big meets. Kristan Papirio should be league leader in javelin.
Concerns: Shotput—all winter season we had Jackie Clinton and My’Lissa Hope get second and third in most meets, but no girl has thrown 30 feet for three to four years. Discus is a concern, but Michelle Monahan should emerge as top discus thrower.
Coach’s Outlook: We need to get better at sprinting, discus, and hurdling to defeat top teams like Natick, Milton, and Wellesley. Otherwise, the outlook is to have as many girls as possible to qualify for the division 2 meet and to win the Herget.
