Ryan Lochte is an American Olympic swimmer and eleven-time Olympic medalist, and now, a reality television star. Luckily, he inherits the main characteristics of a reality TV star: conceit and stupidity. It certainly helps that he has rock hard abs and good looks, but is that it? He has his own catch phrase, “JEAH!” What does that mean? Well, according to Ryan, “It means, like, almost, like, everything, like, if you have a good swim, you say, ‘Jeah.’ Like, it’s good. So, I guess … it means good.” Ah. Well, if that didn’t sum it up clear enough, he tells another interviewer “”It’s spelled J-E-A-H. If you say it how it’s spelled, it’s ‘jeah,'” but that’s boring. No one wants to hear that, so you really have to put that enfidence on that “j,” and then the “A-H,” kind of just flows.” You hear that ladies and gents? It’s all straight from the source.
So, Ryan Lochte is said to lack a lot of common sense. The best parts of his tv show are when the camera zones into him alone in a room, showing off his speaking skills. And by speaking skills, zero at all. His dumb responses to smart questions certainly make the show what it is.
Later on in the show, he takes a girl he meets to a sushi restaurant downtown. His mom and sister ask him if it’s the same sushi restaurant he took his last girl. His response was “It might be the same place, might be the same table but it’s a different girl.” Yes, yes it is.
The show “What Would Ryan Lochte Do?” series premiered on April 21. Apparently, 807,000 viewers tuned in to do this late at night showing. In the series premiere, one could have seen Ryan Lochte and his friends play flag football, his overly protective sister, and or him advertising his clothing and shoe line. Just a bunch of interesting activities, huh? A viewer will have many thoughts while looking back at this show, but the main thing they won’t want to admit is that it’s kind of entertaining. I mean, Ryan Lochte did shed a tear in front of the camera talking about his first time winning a gold medal, following it by “This is the first time I’ve ever cried on camera.”
So what does this bachelor have to do to be as famous as a Kardashian? Keep posing in his speedo in front of the camera? Advertise his shoe line, with “RYAN LOCHTE” across the bottom of the shoes? Well, based off the series premiere, he has done just that! So now we wait for this star’s fame to rise. He deserves it. He really does(sarcasm).
So, What would Ryan do? Has that question been answered? Is he a role model? Could WWJD turn into WWRLD? Tune into the series every Sunday on E! at 10 pm to find out.
