On week 7 of ABC’s “The Bachelor,” Juan Pablo took the remaining 6 ladies to his hometown: Miami. There, some girls straightened out their feelings for Juan Pablo, while others showed their animosity towards each other — and there was a lot of animosity this week. As more girls are eliminated from the show, the remaining ladies reveal more of their personalities, which could be either beneficial or detrimental to their chances at winning Juan Pablo’s heart. Based on last week’s episode, the Rose Rankings are as follows:
1. Nikki — Despite her major role in the drama between the girls, Nikki moves up to number one from the third spot because she maintains a strong connection with Juan Pablo. While she has butted heads with Clare from the beginning, she never allows that drama to interfere with her relationship with Juan Pablo. Nikki’s one-on-one date gave her some much needed alone-time with the Bachelor, and he showed her just how important she was when he introduced her to his daughter. Nikki is definitely the front runner in the competition because she is the only one who has met Camila. In addition, she got along well with Juan Pablo’s family and showed him that a future together is a definite possibility for them.
2. Andi — She has been number one since the first episode, but Andi ranks beneath Nikki this week. Juan Pablo definitely hasn’t forgotten about her because he gave her the rose on the group date, but Andi’s self-doubt has become more apparent in recent episodes. She and Juan Pablo have a natural, easy going relationship; unfortunately, Andi is insecure about the bachelor’s feelings for her, so when they have alone-time, he constantly has to reassure her that he wants her on the show, which takes away from their time to get to know each other better.
3. Clare — As soon as her fight with Juan Pablo ended, Clare got involved in more drama with Nikki. The two ladies have never gotten along, but their resentment toward each other was evident in this week’s episode by the longest awkward pause of the season at the cocktail party. At the rose ceremony, after Juan Pablo sent Chelsie home, Clare called it a “huge mistake,” and she was obviously implying that it should have been Nikki who did not receive a rose. Although Juan Pablo is unaware of the drama between the two girls, Clare is way too possessive of him, and she may be a bit too confident in their relationship. Clare’s inability to accept the fact that the bachelor is dating other girls may get in the way of their relationship and lead to her going home without a rose in the near future.
4. Renee — Although she’s got a great personality and seems a fan favorite, Renee moves two positions this week. Renee doesn’t compete with the other girls in terms of capturing Juan Pablo’s attention and standing out. She’s avoided drama with the other ladies, but Renee is falling into the background like the ladies who were sent home the past few episodes. Juan Pablo’s relationship with Renee is not progressing like his relationships with the other girls—and he doesn’t want to keep her around longer than necessary because of her son— so Renee will probably be sent home next episode without a rose.
The next episode of “The Bachelor” airs today, February 24, at 8pm on ABC. Juan Pablo will visit each of the remaining ladies’ hometowns and meet their families.
