Jack Magane
When did you first begin playing this sport?
I started playing when I was young in youth soccer.
Who was a prominent coach in your sports career? Why?
Coach Delaney because I have played for him for many years now and he has been my coach for multiple sports.
What other activities/clubs are you involved in?
I am a captain of the baseball team.
How do you feel going into this season?
Excited and confident in the group of players we have on the team this year.
What are some goals set for the team this coming season?/How do you plan to achieve these goals?
First to make the state tournament, and then to win our league and advance to where we were last year, hopefully even farther.
Who are some big opponents/rivals? Why?
Braintree, Needham, and Wellesley. These have always been big games for Walpole boys’ soccer, they are always fun games to play in and be apart of. Braintree is considered a rival of Walpole.
Conor Brady
When did you first begin playing this sport?
Freshman year.
Do you want to continue this sport in college?
Yes, but it’s challenging.
Who was a prominent coach in your sports career? Why?
Lee Delaney, he was the one who influenced me to play soccer and is a great role model in my life.
What other activities/clubs are you involved in?
National Honors Society, Best Buddies, Student Council, and Spanish Club.
How do you feel going into this season?
Excited.
What are some goals set for the team this coming season?/How do you plan to achieve these goals?
To make the tournament and make a run like last year. We also plan to achieve this by getting better as the season goes on and sticking together as a team.
Who are some big opponents/rivals? Why?
Needham, Newton North, and Nauset because they are very talented teams and we want to compete against them. Our games against them get very intense.
Dan Colbert
When did you first begin playing this sport?
When I was five years old.
Do you want to continue this sport in college?
Maybe.
Who was a prominent coach in your sports career? Why?
My dad was a prominent coach. He coached me since kindergarten soccer through middle school, and even though he is not my coach now, he continues to help me be a better player.
What other activities/clubs are you involved in?
Tennis.
How do you feel going into this season?
Excited. We lost a lot of talented seniors from last years team, but I think we can have a successful season.
What are some goals set for the team this coming season?/How do you plan to achieve these goals?
Obviously our main goal is to make the tournament and see where we can go from there, but also trying to win the Herget.
Who are some big opponents/rivals? Why?
Wellesley and Natick. We always have good games against them and are two towns that we like to compete with.
