Meet the Captains: Wrestling

Antonio Servello

When did you first begin playing this sport?

Freshman year.

Who was a prominent coach in your sports career? Why?

Coach John McKeon because he taught me the majority of the things I know.

What other activities/clubs are you involved in?

Football and spring track.

How do you feel going into this season?

Pretty hyped up because I want the team to succeed overall.

What are some goals set for the team this coming season?/How do you plan to achieve these goals?

I want everyone to win at least two matches, especially the newcomers. I plan to help them work on their moves during practice to ensure they eventually win.

Who are some big opponents/rivals? Why?

As a team, Norwood, because of the fact that they are a common rival in Walpole’s sports. But a personal rival of mine is Central Catholic because of a wrestler I had a rough match with.

Anthony Borelli

When did you first begin playing this sport?

2010.

Do you want to continue this sport in college?

Undecided.

Who was a prominent coach in your sports career? Why?

Steve Hile and Sean Petrosino because they were my first coaches and taught me how to improve, not only on the mat but also as a person.

What other activities/clubs are you involved in?

Cross Country and Green Team.

How do you feel going into this season?

I feel more confident than ever. Over the recent years, our team has turned into a family and we are always working to not let each other down. I personally need to stay focused on my own goals and direct my teammates to their own.

What are some goals set for the team this coming season?/How do you plan to achieve these goals?

Our team goal is to win our Sectional Division for the first time in history. We can only achieve this goal by taking the season one day at a time and always looking to improve.

Who are some big opponents/rivals? Why?

Our main competition is our Sectional opponents such as Hopkinton, Nashoba and Natick because we will see all those teams in the Sectional Tournament in post-season.
