Kaelyn Briscoe Commits to Emmanuel College for DIII Soccer
Senior Kaelyn Briscoe, after investing her whole life in soccer, will continue her athletic and academic career at Emmanuel College. Emanuel is a Division III Catholic school with access to many successful athletic programs located in the heart of Boston. Emmanuel plays a competitive schedule against other accomplished teams like Regis College and Wentworth Institute of Technology.
“I was drawn to Emmanuel because of the welcoming environment, the exciting location and a strong soccer program,” Briscoe said. “Emmanuel allows for me to have more opportunities due to its location.”
Emmanuel lies in the Fenway-Kenmore neighborhood of Boston, right near popular sites like Fenway Park and the Museum of Fine Art and incredible research and work opportunities at places such as the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School and Boston Children’s Hospital.
Briscoe has continuously worked on her soccer skills since age three, yet credits her Mom and club coaches for making her the talented player she is today.
“My mom was someone I always looked up to growing up because she played college soccer and was well known in the Massachusetts soccer community. Other prominent people were my coaches at FCUSA who helped me grow as a player from the age of 9 up until now,” Briscoe said.
Now, Briscoe continues to work on her skills, as she has just completed her final varsity soccer season, and made a great impact on the field this year. Soccer will always be a special part of her life.
“I could not imagine my life without it. While people may think playing a sport along with being a student would add extra stress, soccer helps me to cope with stress,” Briscoe said. “Next year on the Emmanuel soccer team I hope to earn a starting position and become a top scorer.”
In a few months, Briscoe will be in Boston for her collegiate career and she is plenty prepared to work hard on and off the field.
