Walpole has been awaiting the opening of the new Chick-Fil-A, located in the Walpole Mall, which is estimated to open this December. Although the new Chick-Fil-A location was approved back in the summer of 2018, the company ceased to give any information on construction or opening dates. It is unclear how long Chick-fil-a was under construction, but now that it is mostly finished, they have started hiring employees and increasing their presence on social media to increase more attention. Additionally, Chick-Fil-A will continue its policy of closing on Sundays which the CEO created when they first opened back in 1967. The Chick-Fil-A has hired many Walpole High School students for roles such as cashiers and house workers.
Freshman Lili Da Silva applied to work at the new Chick-Fil-A and got hired as a cashier.
“I [will] make $15 an hour, and I get free food on my shifts [however] we get paid bi-weekly, which means we get paid every other week,” Da Silva said.
WHS senior Justin Rickets has been employed as a house worker.
“I wanted to work at Chick-Fil-A because I liked what they stood for in terms of good food and customer service, and I think the company has a nice, friendly atmosphere,” Ricketts said.
The new Chick-Fil-A, along with bringing jobs to students, is also adding a lot of excitement to the town. Chick-Fil-A is a beloved food chain by people of all ages and will surely impact Walpole in a positive way.
“I’m very excited for the Chick-Fil-A because it’s another place to hangout with my friends and family,” WHS freshman Naya Karzoun said.
Overall, both the community, employees and the town are very excited for the new Chick-Fil-A at the Walpole Mall!
