Sydney Scales

When did you first begin playing this sport?

Freshman year.

Do you want to continue this sport in college?

No.

Who was a prominent coach in your sports career? Why?

My dad was and still is a prominent coach in my sports career. He sparked my love for sports and helped me to constantly improve my skills in many different sports. I am grateful I had someone so devoted and interested in my athletic career.

What other activities/clubs are you involved in?

I play basketball and lacrosse also and I am a member of Spanish Club.

How do you feel going into this season?

I feel confident going into this season. Our season ended in a tough loss last year in the south sectional semi-finals, so we are ready to get back there this year and hopefully even further.

What are some goals set for the team this coming season?/How do you plan to achieve these goals?

One of our goals is always to win the bay state and try and go undefeated during the regular season and into the postseason. We hope to achieve these goals by continuing to get better every day in practice and not taking any opponent lightly.

Who are some big opponents/rivals? Why?

Some of our biggest regular-season games are Needham, Wellesley, and Franklin. These teams are consistently good each year so we always have to bring our A-game when we play them. One of our biggest opponents in the postseason will be Somerset Berkeley. We lost to them last year in the South Sectional Final so if we meet them again this year in the playoffs we will definitely be looking for a different outcome than last year.

Chelmsford and Franklin are some big opponents this year. Both of these teams were a good matchup for us last year. We will be challenged physically and mentally by both of these teams this season.
