Weymouth, Needham and Braintree have always been close meets for us and we have to beat all of them in order to win the Herget.

When did you start playing the sport?

I started running freshman year

Do you want to continue this sport in college?

No.

Who was a prominent coach in your career? Why?

Ms. Rafferty has been my coach since I started and she has been really helpful in motivating me to do my best.

What other activities/sports are you involved in?

I also do track in the spring and I am involved in Journalism, National Honor Society and Community Service Club

How do you feel going into this season?

I am excited to be able to actually compete on an indoor track for my last season! We also have a lot of talented new athletes this year, so it should be a good season.

What are some goals set for the team this coming season? How do you plan to achieve them?

I think we have a good chance of winning the Herget division this year, so that’s probably our biggest goal as a team, but on the individual side, we want to work on getting as many people as possible to get PRs and qualify for meets like Divisionals.

Who are some big opponents/rivals? Why?

Wellesley and Weymouth have very talented hurdlers and they are well-rounded teams in general, so I think they would probably be our closest competitors.

Maggie Mahoney

When did you start playing the sport?

I started running freshman year.

Do you want to continue this sport in college?

No.

Who was a prominent coach in your career? Why?

Mr. O because he has been a really helpful and supportive coach even though I‘ve switched event groups almost every year.

What other activities/sports are you involved in?

I also play lacrosse and am a member of the National Honor Society, Community Service club and Spanish club.

How do you feel going into this season?

I’m excited to race again. Last year all of our meets were outdoors against only one team at a time, so I can’t wait to get back to competing with the whole conference at dual meets and the whole state at invitational meets.

What are some goals set for the team this coming season? How do you plan to achieve them?

Our biggest goal is to win the Herget division of the Bay State Conference. We did this two years ago, and I think we have a good team to pull that off again. Another big goal is to qualify as many girls as possible for postseason meets like Divisionals.

Who are some big opponents/rivals? Why?

Weymouth has always been a close rival of ours. Last year we lost to them by just one point, so we definitely want to come back and win this time. Wellesley is also a really strong competitor because they have talented runners in every event.

Do you want to continue this sport in college?

I’m not sure if I would like to run in college yet.

Who was a prominent coach in your career? Why?

Coach Coogan has been my coach for the past 4 years, and he’s always been the best at pushing me to get PR’s as well as being very supportive every step of the way.

What other activities/sports are you involved in?

Aside from track and field in the winter and spring, I also cheer in the fall.

How do you feel going into this season?

I feel really good going into this season. Not only do we have a lot of returning members but also new ones that add a lot of strength to the team. We are undefeated as of right now and I would like to see how far we are able to go to potentially win the Herget.

What are some goals set for the team this coming season? How do you plan to achieve them?

I think that winning the Herget is a big possibility for this team. I also think that a lot of the girls have goals at qualifying to big meets such as Divisionals and Nationals as well as many records to break this year.

Who are some big opponents/rivals? Why?

In our conference, Needham has always been a big competitor and Wellesley as well even though they aren’t on our side of the conference. Wellesley especially has many talented girls on their team that will definitely push a lot of our girls to run their best.
