Universal access to education is the ability of all people to have equal opportunity in education. 24% of U.S. children have universal education. 30-40 million people don’t have a High School diploma. Universal education ensures that every child, regardless of their background, has the opportunity to learn. It promotes equality by providing children with the same starting point. Universal education contributes to economic growth by giving children an education and when they finish their education they’re more than capable of getting a job.
Countries such as Germany, Brazil, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Austria, Argentina, Turkey and the Czech Republic all have universal education. All of these countries have a higher social market economy. The social market economy is opposed to laissez-faire policies and to socialist economic systems, and combines private enterprise with regulation and state intervention to establish fair competition, maintaining a balance between a high rate of economic growth, low inflation, and low levels of employment. That’s all because of the education that has been provided to the people throughout their entire lives. Many people move to the U.S. for better opportunities for their children and for themselves. 5.8 million people move to the United States for better education. Public schools are more affordable than private schools but can still cost a lot for people. It cost anywhere from $650- $1,500 to send a kid to public school. Even people who have been living in the U.S. their entire lives find it hard to get themselves or their child into a school. I believe that the United States would benefit from this. Everybody in this country has the ability and potential to have success in their education and careers ahead. It gives people equality, growth and confidence, no matter where you’re from or your history.
In conclusion, America and all other countries who don’t have universal education should provide it. The countries who don’t are depriving children of the education they need to become successful in life. The children who don’t have it, lack confidence and social skills. So, all of these reasons explain why I think the United States should have universal education.
