Football: The Rebels played the Milton Wildcats this past Friday night, September 28, and dominated the field, winning by a score of 34-3. Senior Captain Mike Rando played another great game, finishing with two touchdowns, one 36 yard bullet through the air from junior quarterback Will Bolster, the other a 22 yard run. The boys are playing arch rival Norwood this weekend on Saturday, October 6.
Field Hockey: The Porkers played Needham last Thursday, September 27, winning by a score of 4-0. Senior Nicky Browne had a good game scoring three out of four goals for her team. Coach Murphy however, was not satisfied with the girls performance. She believes the girls can play a lot better than they did. Maybe not living up to their coach’s expectations will motivate the girls to blow out Natick tomorrow, October 2, at home. Good luck girls!
Boys Soccer: Last Thursday, September 27, the boys took on 8th ranked in the state Needham and unfortunately lost to a score of 4-0. However, the Monday before, on September 24, the boys beat Norwood in a good game by a score of 1-0. On Saturday, September 29, they played Malden Catholic in an out of league showdown tying the score 2-2. The boys play tomorrow at Natick.
Girls Soccer: Last Monday ‘Rebsoc’ played the Lady Mustangs and got a big win. They finished the game with a score of 2-0 with senior Captain Ella MckMackin scoring one of the goals and the other by her co-Captain senior Seana Cofsky. That Thursday, September 27, the girls tied with powerhouse Needham with a score of 1-1. The girls play Natick tomorrow night at home, should be an exciting game.
Boys Cross Country: The boys cross country team beat Milton last Thursday, September 27. Senior Sean Herlihy took first in the race. The final score was 19-44. Good work guys.
Girls Cross Country: The girls also came out on top against Milton last Thursday, September 27. Freshman Molly Rockwood came in 7th for her team and junior Meg Jenkins came in 4th. The final score for the girls was 17-44.
Volleyball: The girls played Norwood last Thursday the 27th and beat them in 3 games. Senior Kelly Esty recieived Player of the Week from their coaching staff as she played exceptionally well.
Swim: The swim team is still undefeated! They beat Weymouth last Friday, September 28. The score keepers started to “No-Score”, which is when they stop keeping score for the rest of the meet because they are so far ahead of the other team, there is no way that the opposing team can win. Quite an impressive achievement form another unknown team at our school. Support Swim!
Most Valuable Rebel of the Week: This week’s MVR is senior Nicky Browne of the field hockey team. Scoring a hat trick in her team’s game against Needham In which the final score was a 4-0 win, she definitely deserves it. Good work Nicky!
Biggest Upset of the Week: Rebsoc gets this award this week. Maybe not achieving total victory but tying a team that trash talked them all through camp and is one of the top teams in their league is grounds for admiration in my book. Congrats!
Unsung Rebel(s): The swim team is still undefeated and has went to all their meets and caused a “No-Score” every time! Very Impressive!
