Football: The Rebels got off to a slow start Friday night October 12, losing senior Captain Mike Rando to injury early in the first quarter. Also lost to injury on the opening kickoff was senior starting outside linebacker Aidan Lancaster. As the game progressed through the first quarter, it did not look too bright for the Rebels. Then, the Raiders started getting flagged left and right. Once the Wellesley offense was off the field, the Rebels exploded with outstanding performances from junior quarterback Will Bolster and senior tight end Chris Collins. A good win for the Rebels.
Field Hockey: On Wednesday night, October 10, the Porkers played Wellesley on a field plagued by an incrediblely thick cloud of fog and won by a score of 5-1. Junior standout Brooke Matherson added yet another goal to her already phenomenal season on a penalty stroke. On the 12, they played Framhingham and they blew them out of the water winning by a score of 8-1.
Boys Soccer: On October 10, the boys played Wellesley and lsot by a scorre of 2-1. Junior Maurice Young tied the game towards the end of the game and Wellesley scored to win the game with five minutes left in play. On Friday October 12, the boys played Framhingham and won by a score of 2-1. Again junior Maurice Young opened the game up scoring first in the half. Junior Bobby Ivatts would kick the winning goal on a free kick with 15 minutes left in play.
Girls Soccer: Wednesday the 10th, the girls played Wellesley and won by a score of 2-0, with goals from senior Captain Ella McMackin and junior Lauren Regan. Freshman Kaitlyn Brown, had a great game in goal. Friday the 12, the girls played Framhingham and lost by a score of 3-1.
Golf: The golf team played the Norwood Mustangs Wednesday, October 10, and won. With this key win, the team clinches the State Tournament bid.
Boys Cross Country: Wednesday, October 10, the boys raced Braintree and Weymouth and won against Braintree by a score of 15-50 and lost to Weymouth by a score of 24-32.
Girls Cross Country: Wednesday, October 10, girls cross country beat Weymouth for the first time in school history. They beat them by a score of 26-29. Junior Gina Conti had a great race. Keeping up with Weymouth’s top 2 racers the whole race, she out sprinted them in the very last leg of the race.
Swim: The swim team has recorded their first lost all season. They lost to Framhingham on Tuesday, October 8, by a close score of 84-97. It is the first loss the swim team has suffered in 4 years.
Most Valuable Rebel of the Week: Senior tight end Chris Collins of the football team is this weeks MVR. With a one handed grab setting up a touchdown for senior Captain Cam Hanley from Bolster, one of his many great plays, Collins proved that he is a clutch player.
Biggest Upset of the Week: Girls Cross Country take the biggest upset of the week for beating Weymouth for the first time in our schools history! Congrats girls!
