MARRIED:
Most know her as Serena in Gossip Girl, and others know her as Bridget in the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. But now, she can be referred to as Blake Reynolds. Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds married in September of 2012. Ten years apart, they decided to make their relationship public in October of 2011, following ex-boyfriend Leonardo DiCaprio (37) and Lively’s summer romance. Well, that was a quick recovery. Lively and Reynolds briefly dated in December of 2010 and their paths crossed again on the set of The Green Lantern, a movie they filmed together. Thirty-five years old, and Reynold’s is in his second marriage. After being engaged to Alanis Morissette from 2004-2007 and then finalizing his divorce from a three year marriage from Scarlett Johansen in July of 2011, you can say Reynold’s must know what he wants by now. Who exactly? The modest actress, Blake Lively. The two married on Boone Hall Plantation, where the famous Nicolas Sparks’ romance, The Notebook, was filmed. Who knows how long this marriage will last? I predict the what-seems-to-be perfect couple will last longer than 72 days.
ENGAGED:
Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth, currently two of the biggest names in the biz, and definitely one of the most popular celebrity couples were recently engaged after 3 years of dating. Despite their young age, they believe they are ready, although 19 year old Miley won’t be able to toast her new husband with champagne, hopefully she can deal with an expensive sparkling apple juice. They’ve been together ever since they were an onscreen couple in The Last Song, a romantic drama about first love. Since then, both their careers and love have skyrocketed. Liam scored the greatly sought after role of Gale in The Hunger Games trilogy, the newest immensely popular book series to be made into a movie franchise and Miley got the leading role in the coming of age romantic comedy LOL. Even though her movie didn’t make it to the big screen, her loyal following made the film an instant hit among teen girls. Liam popped the question on May 31 with a 3.5 carat diamond ring from jeweler Neil Lane that no girl could say no to, although no date has been set yet. Miley told People Magazine, “I’m so happy to be engaged and look forward to a life of happiness with Liam.” The pair seem to be in for a long life together, hopefully they don’t have the unfortunate fate of divorce, which occurs among most celebrity couples.
FRIENDS TO LOVERS:
When someone says the number 72, what do you think of? Do you think about 9×8? or 6 dozen donuts? Well, if you’re like me, you think about the number of days Kim Kardashian’s previous marriage lasted. After such a fail at marriage, who would think that she could last with Hip Hop’s biggest name, Kanye West for more than a month? No one, atleast not me. But, she certainly proved people wrong. It was in April that West professed his love for Kim through his track Way Too Cold and boom…rumors spread. People can assume that when stars admit it before being questioned, it’s all for publicity. Especially if their first time out together is the opening of Scott Disick’s new restaurant, RYU, Kim’s sister’s boyfriend. But, when Kim premiered on Oprah which was aired on Keeping Up With The Kardashians, she admitted her love for Kanye was real and not for fame. The two have been together for 6 months now, longer than her previous marriage, obviously. She’s talked about maybe marrying Kanye and having kids on her reality show, but one can never know after her joke of a marriage. The two love birds went from friends to lovers very soon and from what I see, they’re adorable. So yes I support this relationship…or should I say “KimYe.”
DIVORCED:
Who would’ve thought Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes would get divorced? You thought they already were? Well confusion is understandable because there have been divorce rumors on the cover of every gossip rag about the two ever since they were married. But no need to question it any longer, Katie filed for divorce on June 29, putting an end to their 5 year marriage. She was reportedly very happy with her decision. Their settlement requires Tom to pay $400,000 a year in child support for their 6-year old daughter Suri, and if Cruise was to miss a payment he could face jail time although this is very unlikely considering he was named Hollywood’s highest paid actor. At first, Tom was so in love, he was jumping on Oprah’s couch, but now I’m sure he’s far from doing any jumps for joy.
