Football: The Rebels lost their first game in their otherwise flawless season last weekend in the showdown game against the Natick Redhawks on Friday, November 9. The Rebels defense played exceptionally well holding a very well coached Natick offense. With ponies such as Natick quarterback Troy Flutie and Wide Reciever Brian Dunlop, the Rebels needed to perform defensivley and they did, holding them to just 21 points. The offense however came up short on the Rebel side of the ball, scoring just 14 points. The Rebels would lose junior star running back and safety Connor Moriarty and senior Captain running back Mike Rando to injury. The Rebels went to the air but could not catch a break as junior quarterback Will Bolster threw three picks. The game would be decided on a dropped fourth down pass from Bolster, turning the ball over to Natick who then would take a knee to end the hard fought game. The final score would be 21-14 Natick. If the Rebels win on Thanksgiving against Weymouth and Frahmingham defeats Natick in their Thanksgiving game, the Rebels will proceed to the playoffs.
