Worst- Sketchers “GOrun 2”
Sketcher’s “Man Vs. Cheetah” ad clearly tried to be funny, but blatantly failed to do so. It came off as horribly cliche as they tried to make it look like a pair of running shoes could make a man faster than what other than the world’s fastest animal. The “faster than a cheetah” ad campaign has been done time and time again, and on top of that Sketchers time came and went back in the early 2000s. If they want to make a come back, they need to do a lot better.

Best- Budweiser
This heartwarming commercial focused on the Budweiser clydesdales instead of the beer itself. It features their newest colt, who was only seven days old at the time of the shoot, and at the end it also offers the opportunity to name the colt by sending in a tweet with your choice. The beauty of the clydesdales paired with Fleetwood Mac’s song Landslide definitely caused all viewers to unconsciously let out an “awwww”, even the big, tough men.

Worst- GoDaddy.com – “Perfect Match”
This one is just painful to watch. The kiss is too loud, too long–simply too gross. Bar Refaeli looks downright uncomfortable the entire time, even though the “nerd” guy is supposed to be her “perfect match”. It is enough to make anyone’s stomach turn.

Best- Volkswagen
Although an actual VW doesn’t show up until the very end, this is still a pretty hilarious commercial. The fake Jammaican accent and care-free, positive attitude of the guy is a clear imitation of Bob Marley, and it effectively goes along with VW’s solgan “Get in. Get Happy.”

Worst- Ram Trucks
The two minute speech on why God made farmers is far too ethical and religious for a commercial during a time when most Americans can be found drinking, eating, and yelling at the TV. People want to laugh during the superbowl commercials, not feel coerced into an existential crisis.

Best-Taco Bell “Viva Young”
This hilarious commercial is about Bernie Goldblatt and his amigos who decide to “Live Mas” when they sneak out of their retirement home for a wild night. The appropriate song choice of “We are Young” (Spanish version) by Fun just adds to the comedy of 80 year olds spending the night acting like rebellious teens.
