Football: The Rebels are coming off of a bye week preparing for Needham this Friday. The Rebels dominated their opener against Foxboro, winning 37-15.
Field Hockey: The Porkers are doing fantastic thus far. They beat Beverly in their opener 2-1. They played on 9/12 against Needham and won 4-0. They played Hopedale on the 9/14 and would beat them 7-1. They have played with great intensity and strong team leadership from senior Captain Brooke Matherson and look for a win tomorrow against Natick.
Volleyball: The Rebels volleyball team got their first win on Thursday the 12th against Needham winning three sets in a row to get the W. They had previously lost to Brookline and powerhouse Newton North but after a few weeks of unorthodox practices, the girls finally got what they deserved. They hope to stay on a win streak when they play tomorrow against Natick.
Boys soccer: Boys soccer has had a tough start to their season thus far. After one of their senior Captains, Bobby Ivatts, got suspended for an MIAA violation, and his fellow Captain senior Maurice Young being injured, it did not look bright for the team. Senior Aj Chauvin stepped up big in the Brookline game on the 10th but fell to injury as well. Without key senior leadership on the varsity squad, it has been tough to bounce back. They play Natick tomorrow at 3:45 and hope to get the W.
Swim: The Swim team won their first meet of the season against Boston Latin, winning 89-96. Senior Captain Doug Stewart took 3rd in the diving portion which helped the team tremendously. The underclassmen stepped up as well for the team, specifically junior Sam Chauvin who placed one spot higher than her captain! Their next meet is against Dedham, tomorrow at 4.
Girls soccer: Girls soccer had a big game against Needham on the 12th in which they tied with the Rockets. Needham is ranked 4th in the state so as you could imagine, this was huge for the team. The lone goal came from senior Captain Karalyn Kickham in the first half. They set out for a win tomorrow against Natick at 3:45.
Most Valuable Rebel: This week’s MVR is sophomore Sam Chauvin who played a key role in her teams swim meet against Boston Latin on the 13th. She placed higher (2nd) than her Captain Doug Stewart (3rd) and helped the team win 89-96. Well done Sam!
Unsung Rebel(s): This week’s unsung Rebel is the volleyball team. After getting their first win of the season against Needham, the team heads onto the court at home against Natick tomorrow looking for the next one. Good luck girls!
