Football: The Rebels played the Needham Rockets on Friday, September 20 and lost the game 26-6. Needham’s star running back and D1 lacrosse commit, senior Mike Panepinto, weaved in and out of the Rebels’ defense, scoring several times on runs that were over 50 yards. Senior Colton Mitchell had a few good receptions from classmate QB Will Bolster. The Rebels’ offense was moving the ball but just could not score. The Rebels are now 1-1 and look to right the ship against Dedham this Friday, 9/27.
Field Hockey: The Porkers played Natick and Wellesley on 9/17 and 9/19 respectively. They won both games. Senior Captains Brooke Matherson and Caroline Feeley played well. They play Milton, tomorrow, 9/24, at Milton. Their record is 5-0.
Volleyball: Rebels Volleyball played Natick on 9/17 but struggled throughout the sets and ultimately lost the game in the fourth set. However, they came back on 9/19 and beat Wellesley and hope to ride this momentum into their game tonight against Marshfield. Their record is now 2-3.
Boys Soccer: Boys Soccer was on the road twice this week against Natick and Wellesley on 9/17 and 9/19 respectively. Due to senior Captain Mo Young being out with an injury, as well as seniors A.J. Chauvin and Bobby Ivatts, the team lacked on offense what they needed to win both games. They play Milton tomorrow, 9/24. Their record is 1-3-1.
Girls Soccer: ‘Rebsoc’ is doing a little better than their male counterparts, tying with Natick 1-1 on the September 17 and beating Wellesley 2-0 on September 19 . Senior Captain Lauren Regan played great in the Wellesley game, scoring on a PK after her sister, sophomore Lisa Regan, was fouled. They play Milton tomorrow 9/24. Their record is 2-2-2.
Swim: The Swim team is still undefeated after facing Brookline on 9/20. They won the meet, not really dealing with much competition from Brookline. Sophomore Paul Ferraro qualified for sectionals in the 100m backstroke. Their record is now 3-0.
Most Valuable Rebel: This week’s MVR is senior Colton Mitchel. A tough game for the football team this past Friday, however Colton had a great game catching several passes from classmate QB Will Bolster. He had a few big runs after the catch and tried to help kickstart the Rebel’s offense, showing true team spirit.
