Vine… It’s not classified as a “new” app, but it’s certainly an addicting app. The six seconds allotted for each vine is a short, but if the vine or the “viner” is worth it you can find yourself laughing at posts for hours. Vine famous people are a whole new category of celebs that have emerged as a result of the app. Many are already fairly well known comedians; however, some are just your average Joe who have been lucky enough to be blessed with the gift of humor and have eventually gained a loyal following and hopefully the vine verified symbol signifying that they are qualified as “vine famous”.
So, here’s a list of our favorite viners :
Bo Burnham- famous for his incorporations of famous movie scenes, music clips, and of course, humor into half of his videos, Bo Burnham is not just a famous comedian, but also a famous viner with 1.4 million followers and growing. https://vine.co/v/hqmXImQnXIe/embed
Jessi Smiles and Curtis Lepore never knew each other until Vine came along and brought the two together. Once the eventually met after many vines back and forth to each other, many of their fans came to witness their meeting, and of course, published it on Vine. https://vine.co/v/hg06hnwmnM0/embed
Jerome Jarre- Famous for awkwardly walking and completing weird tasks to make the strangers around him feel uncomfortable, Jerome was soon phoned by Ellen Degeneres to do a creep-tastic task for not just Vine, but for the Ellen show. https://vine.co/v/hwPHJTQdILP/embed
Chris D’elia- If he wasn’t already famous enough for starring in the sitcom, “Whitney”, comedian Chris D’elia was recently signed to the new show “Undateable”. Vine has given Chris the ability to broaden his fans to not just Whitney and Undateable watchers, but Vine users. In just one year, Chris D’elia has become one of the most famous Vine posters of all time. He is known for singing “beautiful” versions of songs, in which he usually sings in an opera-like tone to today’s hits, and commenting on the weird things strangers do. His most famous and mimicked vines are his “excuse me, sir” vines. https://vine.co/v/hgjpV7HPiHr/embed
Eric Dunn- He’s multitasks as a college student and one of the most famous viners out there. His most famous vines include the “Jerome” character, who is basically Dunn’s impression of a stereotypical black man. His account has reached over 1 million followers and continues to grow. Who even needs college if you’re gaining this much popularity over mere 6 second videos? https://vine.co/v/hZnKObxAlpM/embed
