It’s officially the holiday season, which means dessert, dessert, and more dessert. However, this doesn’t only consist of eating desserts — there’s also that pressure of what to bring when you’re going to all your annual holiday parties. To eliminate this constant fear of what to bring and whether it will be a hit or not, I have the perfect idea for you.
For this dessert, you need 3 ingredients (yes, only 3) and 10 minutes (not kidding). This snack is so quick and easy that it can be made last minute for those parties that you forget about until the day of. All you need is pretzels, Hershey kisses, and M&M candies. For the pretzels, the square ones probably work best; I used the normal kind of pretzels since that’s all I had around the house, but they work as well. Also, for the Hershey kisses, you can play it safe and get the normal milk chocolate, or step out of your comfort zone and get something like peppermint or dark chocolate to be a little more festive for the holidays. Lastly, for the M&M’s, I would suggest to just use the original kind as to not include too many flavors in your dessert and overwhelm the eater. But you can use the Christmas colored ones if you want to add a festive flair to the treats.
So, to make this easy snack, preheat your oven to 275 degrees. Then, take a baking sheet, line it with wax paper, and spray the paper with cooking spray. Next, lay out a single layer of pretzels on the sheet and top each with an unwrapped Hershey kiss. Put this tray in the oven for 2-3 minutes, just until the chocolate is softened (2 minutes worked for me). Right after removing the tray from the oven, press an M&M into the top of each kiss. The M&M should flatten the kiss into a sort of “bed.” To ensure that the chocolate is hardened, put the pretzels in the fridge for at least 10 minutes; after, they can be stored at room temperature.
This dessert will take you no time at all to make and I guarantee it will be a crowd favorite. Once you make it a few times you can also start to be more creative and substitute the kisses for also candies like Rolo’s or whatever else you can think of. Be creative and have fun with it. This is such a simple treat that it wouldn’t hurt to have multiple variations. Your dessert will be a hit no matter what the occasion is, and no one has to know that it only took you 10 minutes.
