For Hallway Talk, a new blog for The Rebellion, we will poll ten Walpole High students on current issues pertaining to the school and the community. These surveys will focus on one question. This survey was conducted on January 20 during Block B and January 21 during Block D.
QUESTION: What do you think about the new mid-year schedule?
Senior Stephanie Lund: “I hate it. It’s stupid because some mid-years are spread out over more than one day and you don’t have much time to study and you can’t go out to breakfast after. word.”
Senior Allie Morris: “It’s not as effective since kids have to take a mid-year after a day of school which gives them no time to study.”
Junior Stina Cofsky: “Honestly, I didn’t have any mid-years, so I didn’t mind it. I had one so it was basically like a test, but for kids who have mid-years it sucks, like Sarah Rockwood has three on one day and a test in another class.”
Senior Jessica Jones: “If you’re going to get rid of mid-year schedules, get rid of the mid-year exams all together.”
Junior Eamon McCarthy: “It’s a lot better. Some teachers don’t have to give them if they don’t want to.”
Senior Egan Dunn: “Instead of going to class, I want to go home and sleep, or turn on NHL Network.”
Senior John Henri: “If it’s not broken, don’t fix it.”
Senior Tatiana Morales: “It doesn’t make sense. It’s unorganized and not planned out well at all.”
Junior Andrew Wheeler: “I like it. As much as I miss the half day schedule for a week, I think not having some mid-years is very worth it.”
Sophomore Hugh McMackin: “It’s stupid..There’s no point to it.”
