Molly Whelan

When did you first begin playing this sport?

I first began playing volleyball in the seventh grade.

Who was a prominent coach in your sports career? Why? 

Coach O (Okolwitcz) has been a prominent coach in my career because he has coached me for the past four years by encouraging and teaching me valuable lessons.

What other activities/clubs are you involved in? 

I am part of Best Buddies and Spanish Club.

How do you feel going into this season? 

I feel very confident and excited to see what we can accomplish this season.

What are some goals set for the team this coming season?/How do you plan to achieve these goals? 

We are planning to win the Herget Title for the fourth year in a row and to make it as far in the postseason as possible. We take it each point and game at a time.

Who are some big opponents/rivals? Why?

We have many big rivals this season but I think Needham is going to be a good competitive rival this year, because we shared the Herget Title with them last year and they always give us a good game.

Bridget Abril

When did you first begin playing this sport?

Eighth grade.

Who was a prominent coach in your sports career? Why? 

Mr. O (math teacher): He was my coach for three seasons and is my current assistant coach. He pushes our team like no other coach and also provides moral support while critiquing our skills.

What other activities/clubs are you involved in?

Spanish Club, NHS, Math Team, Prom Committee, Wrestling Team Manager.

How do you feel going into this season?

I feel confident going into this season. Although we are a young team, we are a tall team. Each girl, senior or junior or sophomore, is working hard to be the best they can be in order for us to have a successful season.

What are some goals set for the team this coming season?/How do you plan to achieve these goals?

Our goal is to make tournament. We are going to work hard every day to prepare ourselves to win 10 games in order to make it to the playoffs.

Who are some big opponents/rivals? Why?

Needham is our biggest rival because last year we tied for the Herget Champion title with them. This year we are gunning to beat Needham the second time we play them (we already lost our third game to Needham).
