When did you first begin playing this sport?
“I first began to play this sport in eighth grade on a club team.”
Do you want to continue this sport in college?
“Yes, I am looking to play volleyball at a D3 college.”
What is your pre-game ritual? (Songs, pre-game meals, etc.):
“I like to listen to some hype music and I like to eat a little sandwich or something light before my games.”
What advice do you have for underclassmen who play your sport?
“Volleyball can be tough at times, especially when you make a lot of mistakes but they have to remember that volleyball is a game of mistakes. Always just try your best and bring the energy [it] will make it a better experience.”
Who was a prominent coach in your sports career? Why?
“My most prominent coach was my club coach for my AAU team, Brain Gerard. He helped me improve in my position as a libero with various drills and multiple practices and he was also a really nice person.”
What other activities/clubs are you involved in?
“ I am in Morgan’s Message, Photography Club, Humane Society, NHS and I work at a daycare and a local restaurant.”
How do you feel going into this season?
“I feel pretty good going into this season, as we have really good team chemistry and the energy is really good right now.”
What are some goals set for the team this coming season?/How do you plan to achieve these goals?
“Some goals for this team are to improve our team communication, keep positivity on and off the court and grow closer as a team as the season progresses. I plan to achieve these goals through team bonding and productive practices.”
What team do you look forward to playing this season? Why?
“I look forward to playing Braintree the most because we are friendly with the team and it will be a fun game to compete in, as they are around the same level of competition as us.”
KATE JORDAN
When did you first begin playing this sport?
“I first started playing volleyball in 7th grade. My sister always played and I always enjoyed going to her games.”
Do you want to continue this sport in college?
“I’m not sure yet, I’m leaning more towards focusing on school and maybe playing an intramural.”
What is your pre-game ritual? (Songs, pre-game meals, etc.)
“I try my best to eat a good meal, but this doesn’t always work out. Most of the time it’s a Big Mac or something from Taco Bell. Additionally the team always listens to ‘The Show Goes On’ during warmups.”
What advice do you have for underclassmen who play your sport?
“Be confident and use your voice.”
Who was a prominent coach in your sports career? Why?
“Meg Sullivan. She was my club coach sophomore year and she brought such a fun energy to the team. She helped me learn a lot about the sport while still having fun.”
What other activities/clubs are you involved in?
“I’m currently in NAHS, Community Service and a new member of Morgan’s Message.”
How do you feel going into this season?
“I feel confident that our team will be able to manage the competition and bring home some wins.”
What are some goals set for the team this coming season?/How do you plan to achieve these goals?
“The team hopes to make the playoffs this season, I believe with hard work we will be able to achieve this.”
What team do you look forward to playing this season? Why?
“I think Braintree, we are generally the same competitive level as them so the competition is always good.”
DORI RIZZO
When did you first begin playing this sport?
“I started playing volleyball in 8th grade at Mass Premiere.”
Do you want to continue this sport in college?
“I would most likely play club or intramural volleyball in college but nothing higher.”
What is your pre-game ritual? (Songs, pre-game meals, etc.)
“I like to make sure I drink water and have a little snack, but not too much to eat. I like to chew gum to help me focus during warmups. I usually listen to the playlist playing on the speakers to get me excited.”
What advice do you have for underclassmen who play your sport?
“Work together as a team because no one can do anything alone, make sure to have fun and don’t get in your head. Volleyball is a big team sport so bringing a lot of energy to the court makes it a lot of fun.”
Who was a prominent coach in your sports career? Why?
“My coach from my club team last year because she always made sure to see how I was feeling and actually helped me get better instead of telling me what I did wrong.”
What other activities/clubs are you involved in?
“I am in NHS, NAHS, Community Service, Welcoming Committee, Morgan’s Message and Prom Committee.”
How do you feel going into this season?
“I am a little nervous because I didn’t have a good season last year, but being a captain and having playing time has made it a lot of fun. I really like the team this year.”
What are some goals set for the team this coming season?/How do you plan to achieve these goals?
“I really want to make the playoffs. We would do that by trying our best to keep our record up with the hard schedule.”
What team do you look forward to playing this season? Why?
“I really like playing Bishop Feehan because they have a lot of energy. We play a lot of hard teams, but it is usually pretty fun for the experience.”
