What activities do you do other than your sport?
“I did cross country for two seasons and indoor track for three. I am also a director of the Coconut Crew for the 2026 Film Festival.”
How long have you been playing your sport and why did you start?
“I have been playing tennis for five years and I started because I played racquetball with my dad when I was younger.”
How have your coaches impacted you?
“Coach Gough was my fifth grade teacher and was always one of my favorite teachers I’ve ever had. As a coach, he’s taught me valuable skills both off and on the court.”
Do you plan to continue playing your sport in college and in what capacity?
“I plan on playing it in a club or playing table tennis or pickleball which are tennis adjacent.”
What is your proudest achievement playing your sport?
“Winning a Junior Varsity (JV) game against Brookline.”
What are your goals for the season
“Winning the state championship.”
What is your favorite memory on the team
“Doordashing Wendy’s and eating a burger while playing a JV match.”
What advice do you have to people considering joining your sport?
“Anyone can start playing and learn how to hit a ball [well] within a few weeks. The hard part is fine tuning, but anyone can play no matter how old.”
Brady Goldman
What activities do you do other than your sport?
“I usually like to hang out with friends, watch sports and play video games.”
How long have you been playing your sport and why did you start?
“Since I was 11. I started because my parents always wanted me to get into a sport, and tennis was finally the one that stuck.”
How have your coaches impacted you?
“Coach Gough has taught me lots about being engaged in a sport, a tough competitor, and how to deal with adversity.”
Do you plan to continue playing your sport in college and in what capacity?
“I will probably play club.”
What is your proudest achievement playing your sport?
“Beating Needham in my sophomore year.”
What are your goals for the season
“We have our most complete team this year, so we think we have what it takes to make a pretty deep playoff run.”
What is your favorite memory on the team
“Watching Adi [Shah] and Shrey [Jadhav] beat Brookline sophomore year.”
What advice do you have to people considering joining your sport?
“It is a tough learning curve, so I suggest playing multiple times a week, getting good reps in and strengthening your conditioning.”
Stephen Jung
What activities do you do other than your sport?
“Class President, Soccer (fall), Music, National Honor Society, Best Buddies, Student Council and Math Team.”
How long have you been playing your sport and why did you start?
“I have been playing since I was seven. I started because my brother played and we were both really competitive, so I always wanted to be better than him.”
How have your coaches impacted you?
“I have known [Shawn] Gough ever since my brother played on the team. He is one of the most down-to-earth people I have met, and I am grateful that he has shaped me into the leader I am today. Gough knew I had the skills to compete with a lot of the players, but without him, I would not have developed the mentality necessary to play matches in the Bay State.”
Do you plan to continue playing your sport in college and in what capacity?
“No.”
What is your proudest achievement playing your sport?
“My proudest achievement was during the first round of the playoffs last year, when I played an hour and thirty minute match against a really tough opponent from Grafton. It meant a lot to play in front of a large crowd, including the Superintendent and Mr. Imbusch. That match showed me how much I had grown, especially in my grit and mentality.”
What are your goals for the season
“Our goal is to make a deep run in the playoffs this year. We went 14–5 last season, and I think we’ve gotten even better. We did not lose anyone, and a lot of our top players have improved, so we have strong flexibility and depth in our lineup. We also want to compete at a high level against top teams like Needham, Brookline, Wellesley and Newton North.”
What is your favorite memory on the team?
“My favorite memory was freshman year when we beat Dedham 3–2 after two rain delays. It was 10 p.m. on the bus ride back from Nobles and everyone was just loud, joking around and blasting music. Everyone was chirping each other and hyping up the win and the whole ride back was just fun. It was one of those moments where the team felt really close.”
What advice do you have to people considering joining your sport?
“Playing tennis in high school has probably been one of the best decisions I have made. Our team has made the playoffs for the past 25 years and is always competitive, so you are part of something strong. You also get to meet some of the nicest but still competitive people in the school, which makes it a really good experience overall.”
