Boys Hockey:  On Wednesday December 19, Boys Hockey continued their hot start—defeating Brookline 8-0 at home.  Senior John McDonald started the scoring-spree when he buried one in the back of the net in the second period.  Also, senior Ryan Erwin got his first start in the net, and he shut them out (Walpole has only given up 2 goals this whole season).  On Saturday, the boys, however, could not get the “W”, tying Wellesley 0-0 in a heard-fought game.

Girls Hockey:  Similar to the boys, Girls Hockey won one and tied one this week to improve their record to 3-0-1.  The girls blew out Brookline 10-0; almost everyone contributed in the win.  However, they could put away from Wellesley, tying them 3-3 in an exciting game on Saturday night. Sophomore Olivia Knight scored with under a minute left to tie the score.

Boys Basketball: On Thursday, Boys Basketball took on a proficient Brookline team and had impressive 68-46 victory for their first win off the season.  This win was promising for the team as they beat one of the best teams in the Bay State by 22 points.  The team had great guard play as senior Captain Johnny Adams—who also made a three-quarters court shot to end the first half—shut down one of the best point guards in the state.

Girls Basketball:  Girls Basketball had a tough start to the week but found their groove on Thursday to finish .500 for the week. On Tuesday, the girls played one of the best teams in the Bay State in Newton North but unfortunately lost 55-30.  However, they had a great team effort on Thurday—defeating Brookline 45-23 to improve to 2-1. Senior Captain Lauren Bodin stole the spotlight with 18 points.

Boys Indoor Track:  Boys Indoor Track lose to Milton to make their record 1-1.  In the 2 mile, senior Captain Sean Herilhy and junior Mikey Van der Linden finished 1st and 2nd with times of 10:28 and 10:45. Senior Captain Connor McCarthy had an excellent performance as well.

Girls Indoor Track:  On Thursday, the Girls Indoor Track finished victorious, defeating Milton 57-39.  Junior Captain Gina Conti had an excellent performance finishing 2nd in the 300m with a time of 43.29.

Wrestling:  Wrestling found their match on Wednesday night—losing to Framingham (the best team in the Bay State).  However, they rebounded on Saturday afternoon at their quad meet, defeating Boston Latin, Foxboro, and Holliston.  Junior Noah Kung has begun the season phenomenally as he is the only wrestler on the team who has yet to lose a match. Senior Captain Caleb Cofsky wrestled well on Saturday, finishing 3-0 for the day.

Gymnastics:  Gymnastics had a promising win over Natick 126.2-125.5.  This win already gives them more win as they did last year as the team brought in a talented group of freshman.  Freshman Kaitlin Porter illuminated in the win with an excellent performance.

Most Valuable Rebel: Senior Captain Johnny Adams is this weeks MVR. His defensive presence and offensive prowess in the upset over Brookline earns hum the accolade.  Also, his three-quarters-court shot stole the show Thursday night.

Biggest Upset of the Week:  The biggest upset of the week was the Gymnastics victory over Natick.  Not only did they beat a solid Natick squad, but they also earned a victory, something they did not do all last year.
