rebel_logo1Boys Hockey:  On Wednesday night, Boys Hockey beat Dedham 7-3 in an impressive performance from the shorthanded Rebels.  The team was led by senior Matt Bender and sophomore Danny Hamilton who both had two goals in the win.  This hot start has been impressive with injuries to key players like seniors Tyler Bailey, Alex Carde, Derek Reinhert and juniors Tommy McNamara and Sean Donnelly.  Also, on Saturday night the boys tied rival Norwood 2-2.  Bender once again netted a goal along with junior Tommy Macdonald getting a important goal.

Girls Hockey:  Just like the boys, Girls Hockey beat Dedham 5-3.  Juniors Jenna Donahue and Rachael Barry led the team as they both scored to put Walpole up and help secure the win.  Unfortuanately, on Saturday night, they could not get the win, as they lost to rival Norwood 5-2.

Boys Basketball:  Boys Basketball had a shaky start to week, as they lost to Milton 62-53.  However, they bounced back with a 71-62 win against Dedham on Friday night.  Junior Adam Quinlan contributed 21 points in the win and junior Scott Arsenault played exceptionally well as he was a threat from the three point line all night.

Girls Basketball:  Girls Basketball had an excellent week as they won two games to take first place in the Bay State Herget.  On Tuesday night, they defeated  Milton 49-46 and on Friday night, they beat Dedham 45-37 in a hard fought win.  Senior Captains Lauren Bodin and Bridget Nicholson both had great games during the two wins.

Boys Indoor Track:  Boys Indoor Track had a rough week as they lost to rival Norwood for the first time since 2006.  Despite the loss, senior Captain Connor McCarthy placed first in the 55m with a time of 8:03.

Girls Indoor Track:  Girls Indoor Track continued their undefeated season as they beat rival Norwood on Thursday night.  Junior Captain Gina Conti ran very well in the 1000m with a time of 3:08.

Wrestling:  On Thursday night, Wrestling defeated Dedham in a landslide to add on to their hot start.  Junior Noah Kung highlighted the win with a quick pin against his opponent in the 220 lbs. weight class.  Junior Armen Andonian also had an excellent match as he won in the heavyweight division.

Gymnastics:  Gymnastics won their meet on Tuesday night to stay undefeated. This is quite impressive considering they went win less last year.  Keep up the good work!

Most Valuable Rebel:  This weeks Most Valuable Rebel is junior Adam Quinlan of Boys Basketball.  Against Dedham on Friday night Quinlan had 21 points and was a force on defense the entire night.  Not only is that impressive but Quinlan was coming an injury that limited his playing time in his prior games.  Keep up the good work!
