rebel_logo1Boys Hockey:  On Wednesday night, Boys Hockey defeated Dedham 7-2.  Senior Matt Bender lead the scoring surge as he netted a goal to help the Rebels secure the win.  Also, on Sunday night Boys Hockey took on Norwood on Senior night.  However, the team could not come out with a win, losing the game 5-1.

Girls Hockey:  On Wednesday night, Girls Hockey qualified for the state tournament as they had an impressive win against Dedham, winning 4-2. Girls Hockey however could not keep up its winning ways as they fell to Norwood 4-2 on Sunday night.

Boys Basketball:  Boys Basketball had one of their best weeks of their year going 2-0 to help qualify for the state tournament.  On Tuesday night they beat Milton 63-46 and on Thursday they continued their great play with a 69-65 win over Dedham.  From being a 3-17 team just a year ago, now qualifying for state tournament is really a testament of how hard Boys Basketball and Coach David St. Martin works.  Keep up the good work!

Girls Basketball:  Girls Basketball beat Milton 44-43 on Tuesday in one of the most exciting games of the whole winter sports season.  With just seconds left and down by 2 points, senior Captain Bridget Nicholson hit a game winning 3 pointer to improve their record to 10-4.  Also, on Thursday Girls Basketball was once again victorious with a 51-40 win over Dedham.

Boys Indoor Track:  Boys Track competed in the Bay State Conference Championship Invitational this week with wonderful performances from multiple athletes.  Senior Captain Connor McCarthy had a great showing as he placed first in the 55 meter hurdle with a time of 7.81.

Girls Indoor Track:  Girls Track also competed in the Bay State Conference Championship Invitaional where they saw some excellent performances.  Junior Captain Gina Conti was easily the most impressive performance of the day, breaking a school record in the 600 meter with a time of 1:37:52.

Wrestling:  On Wednesday night, Wrestling won a big match against Weymouth. Nothing but the usual performance from senior Captain Caleb Cofsky, who secured a facile win against his opponent at the 132 pound weight class. Junior Justin Rouhana, whose normal weight class is 195 pounds, wrestled 220 lbs for his team, after weighing in at 195 pounds,  due to classmate Noah Kung still being out with a shoulder injury. He would secure the win at 220 pounds,  winning the bout 11-1.

Gymnastics:  On Tuesday night, Gymnastics lost a close meet to Needham 133-130.  Despite the loss, Freshman Kaitlin Porter had a fantastic perfomance on the bars, beam and vault.

Most Valuable Rebel:  This weeks Most Valuable Rebel is junior Gina Conti of Girls Track.  Conti broke a school record this week in the 600 meter with a time of 1:37:52 as she came in 2nd place.  Conti has been dominating this race the whole year and it really shows how good of an athlete she is to break a school record.  Good job Gina!
