What are your goals and/or expectations for this upcoming season?
“It might be pretty obvious but my goal for this upcoming season is to win yet another championship. With that being said, some of my expectations include working hard at practice, bonding as a team, and playing to our full potential as a team.”
What does being a leader mean to you/ how would you like to leave an impact on the program?
“Being a leader means a lot to me because it shows me that my teammates see me as a person who they can both rely on and trust. However, it also means that I will constantly be looking out for my teammates and trying to help them in the best way possible, both on and off the field. Of course I would love to leave an impact through winning another championship, but I would love to leave an impact on all levels of field hockey through our town. That includes me volunteering at youth practices, coaching small groups, reffing youth games and the list goes on. But giving them someone to look up to will not only help them to love the sport, but also succeed as a player in the future.”
What is your favorite memory as an athlete?
“My favorite memory as an athlete was winning the field hockey and lacrosse championships in the same year. It was such a special group of people and we were able to do it together due to our dedication to both the game and each other. Especially after winning the field hockey championship the year prior and losing in lacrosse that same year made it all worth it. The endless practices and workouts as a team had paid off and it could not have been done without this group of athletes.”
Do you play any other sports, if so which ones?
“Yes, I also play ice hockey and lacrosse! Also I am a captain of the hockey team!”
How have sports played a role/ affected your life?
“Sports have played a huge role in my life because I simply would not have been the same person without them. Growing up, it allowed me to gain competitiveness, passion, and leadership just from being on the field with my friends. Sports have also allowed me to connect with so many different people who I never would’ve known otherwise! They have allowed me to grow so much as a person and also have changed how I view myself and many aspects in my life!”
Do you plan to continue field hockey after high school? If so, where?
“Yes, I do play to continue both my athletic and academic career at Union College in Schenectady, New York!”
