On Sept. 26, 2025, Lorde brought her fourth concert tour, “The Ultrasound Tour” to TD Garden in Boston. The New Zealand-based singer and song-writer started to write music at the age of 14. Over the summer released her fourth album, “Virgin”. The tour started on Sept. 17, 2025 and will continue through March of 2026. Fans were thrilled to see Lorde was coming back on tour after her typical four year break, causing her to sell out multiple tour dates.
The opening acts for the Boston show were Blood Orange and The Japanese House. The band Blood Orange performed many songs such as “Time Will Tell,” “Best to You” and “Charcoal Baby.” Their hit song “Champagne Coast” made the crowd go crazy. These songs created a great start to the thrilling night. Lorde’s second opener, The Japanese House, performed hit songs such as “Touching Yourself,” “Friends,” “Sunshine Baby” and other hit songs. The two openers brought an energetic and exciting start to the show, getting fans eager for the show.
Lorde started off the night by performing her single “Hammer” off of “Virgin.” She starts with a light beaming onto her as a chair lift brings her onto the stage. Then she shifted, and performed her hit first single from 2014, “Royals.” Lorde shifted back and forth between her different musical eras which created a diverse and unique environment for all music listeners.
Lorde managed to capture the audience’s attention and energy all throughout the night. The crowd engaged with her throughout the night, singing along to all the songs. During the songs “Liability” and “Ribs,” the crowd sang the backing lyrics for the songs, creating an amazing effect and beautiful harmony in the audience.
Fans had many mixed opinions and thoughts on the setlist. Many fan-favorite tracks were not played on the tour. Listeners were devastated after hearing these cuts, but were still very appreciative of the other songs that did make it onto the setlist. Fans could be seen dancing, jumping, cheering and screaming throughout the concert. When Lorde played a sad or emotional song such as “David,” the crowd could be seen swaying with each other, holding up lights and matching Lorde’s solemn mood. However, when she played a happy and cheerful song like “Supercut,” fans jumped around and sang loudly, matching the vibe of the song.
After “David,” Lorde surprised fans with one of the top songs on her first album, “Pure Heroine” which went viral this winter. Fans were in awe when they heard the first keys to “A World Alone.” The crowd grew sensational and was astonished by this song being added. This was a shock to all, as it was the first time she performed “A World Alone” on this tour. Lorde expressed her love for Boston various times throughout the night, likely leading to this addition.
“This is really special being back here. I take none of this for granted.” Lorde said to the crowd in between songs.
Throughout the night, Lorde repeatedly embraced her appreciation of the city of Boston, which made fans feel appreciated and loved. Her tour is off to a spectacular start with fans raving about it on all social media platforms.
